Q: Do I need to get the marriage license or is this one of the jobs of the officiant?
A: This is something that you need to get yourself. You can contact a Service Ontario office in your area for more details.
Q: Does the wedding officiant need to be licensed?
A: Yes. It is very important that the person you choose as your wedding officiant is licensed by the Province of Ontario. Here is a link so that you can search for wedding officiants in Ontario.
I am listed in Waterdown under Martha VanEden-Olsthoorn.
Q: Do I need a rehearsal?
A: This is a personal preference and based on your experience with being involved with weddings and also how large your wedding party will be. I always advise couples that if they are having a large wedding party of more than 4 on the groom's side and 4 on the bride's, it is advisable to have a rehearsal. Rehearsals can be held the week before or the night before; it is completely up to you.
Q: After we are married, does the marriage certificate come to us automatically?
A: No. You must apply on line for your certificate approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the ceremony. I will mail your signed license to The Registrar's office in Thunderbay. I include instructions on how to apply for the marriage certificate in the packet I leave with you.
This price includes the creation of your personalized wedding ceremony, follow up zoom calls, officiating the wedding by a licensed wedding officiant and submitting the paperwork in for processing.
Rehearsals are an additional charge and start at $100.00
